Keiko Mecheri is a Japanese American who studied Fine Arts, travelled the world and then started her own Perfume House. The Auckland launch was at World Beauty.
Keiko has never heard of the perfume term EDT, let alone the word cologne. The range is opulent, rich and EDP++.
Oliban was rapturous, Damascena a delight, and Cuir Cordoba was sexy bordering on promiscuous. The stand-out of an outstanding range was Isles Lointaines which is indeed la isla bonita of perfume. Alas no Vetiver Velours reached these shores. I have no comment on Mulholland simply because it left no impression. Though maybe it will impress you.
A pinch of patchouli
Undina’s Looking Glass review
Has anyone encountered these or others from this house?
I’ve had samples of Damascena for ages and ages now but have never gotten around to sniffing or testing them. As for Mulholland not leaving an impression on you, that says something when a perfume has sandalwood as part of its notes. You love sandalwood! But you have me intrigued now by the Cuir Cordoba. 🙂
Would love to read your Damascena journey once it starts! I didn’t realize that Mulholland had sandalwood until I read the notes. Launches can lead to nasal confusion due to the amount of sniffing. I will return for a solo drive down Mulholland at some stage. The ‘fumes above are very ‘I am woman’ rather than man-friendly.
I have Patchoulissime right here in front of me. Dug out my small metal box. Will test and get back to you. Sample beautifully packed in a small 3 by 2 inch envelope, Seems to be part of “Les Orientals”. Hmmmm. I remember trying it ………. but that´s about all.
Best you go jogging Cookie Queen… to jog that memory. Impressed you found the patch so effortlessly.
Morning from my cookie lab.
This fragrance is awesome if you don’t like patchouli. Because there isn’t any. Well, I shouldn’t exaggerate.
The patch lasted about 3.5 minutes.
Had a full bottle of Rose Attar which I gave to my pops (he rather liked it!) and had samples of Ume and Isles Lointaines…blew right through them so I guess I liked them! the notes in Oliban intrigue me…
Wow, you smelt great as I am sure you always do.
Reblogged this on betweensecondandthird.
I like Patchoulissime very much. Will have to go resniff Oliban now.
Didn’t try the patch; next time. Have a lovely time with Oliban Julie.
Oliban has been on my ‘to try’ list for ages. You have gotten me off my rear to order a sample set!
Fragrant Exercise! An adventure awaits you.
Out of those that you’ve mentioned I tried only Damascena and it was too much of the rose for me.
I hope to post later this week about my favorite perfume from this brand (so I’ll keep the name a secret until then).
Gourmadises is fabulous! The best gourmand scent, not at all cloying (like I find most gourmands to be).
Aha, also to try. Always cautious about eating my arm though.
